Although the firearms industry has been in a slump since late 2016, there are some indications that it may be on the mend. Background checks, which serve as a proxy for sales, are up; same-store sales numbers are improving; and the share prices of gun manufacturers & dealers are starting to rally. As we head into an election year, fears of a democratic win and more restrictive laws being passed could support that rally.
