Taiwan’s president Tsai Ing-wen just got re-elected in a historic vote that also helped her party retain its majority in parliament. That gives her and the DPP a strong enough platform to enact new laws and reforms to boost the Island’s economy and fend off China’s encroachment for now. Recent efforts are already starting to bear fruit, and with the elections results behind us, Taiwanese equities should start rallying again.
